Dukha
Definition: Suffering; pain, distress, or dissatisfaction, seen as a fundamental reality of embodied existence.
Insights: Duhkha, or suffering, is a central concept in yoga and Indian philosophy. The Yoga Sutra teaches that all worldly experience is tinged with duhkha due to impermanence and attachment. Recognizing and understanding the nature of suffering is the first step toward liberation.
