Prakrti
Definition: Primordial nature; the fundamental source of matter and energy from which the manifest universe emerges.
Insights: Prakrti is the primal, unconscious source of all matter and energy that gives rise to the manifest universe. Recognizing the distinction between prakrti (nature) and purusa (consciousness) is key to yogic insight.
